As of this morning, Tomas was located near Haiti, southwestern peninsula. In relative term, it is close to the city of Les Cayes, about 160 miles from Port-au-Prince and was moving at 10mph. In addition, Tomas currently has sustained 85 miles.

Tomas is expected to bring devastating rains to Haiti with high potential for flood and mudslides. City of Les Cayes where Hurricane Tomas is expected to make huge impact, is a low-lying city with a history of catastrophic flooding.

Many stated that there is no words to describe the conditions that is going on in Haiti now. It is going from deplorable to critical. Many people are living in tents non resistant to either rain or wind. In addition, the country is battling a cholera outbreak which tends to spread if there is flooding.

As Tomas approaches, several airlines cancelled their flights to Haiti, leaving many stranded in the island. American Airlines cancelled all its flights in destination to Haiti for this Friday.
