Officials in Haiti and particularly in Gonaives are deploring the fire that ravaged the municipal market of Gonaives last Friday. The municipal market that is a main business center for the city of Independence was completely destroyed by the fire and there are suspicions that the fire may have been intentional.

 The New president of Haiti, Michel Martelly, deplored the act of setting fire in the municipal market of Gonaives and had instructed his Police Chief, Mario Andresol to conduct an investigation into the matter
