As it was the case for Haiti earthquake of January 12, 2010, the City of Leogane is again the epicenter for hurricane Tomas. The city was hit very bad by hurricane Tomas which left the city with massive flooding.
The city of Leogane was totally destroyed by the earthquake, with more than 90 percent of the houses reduced to rubble. Just before hurricane Tomas, the population of Leogane was over 120,000 people. It is estimated that many people from the city perished in the earthquake.
Just before announcing that hurricane Tomas was going to hit Haiti, the population of Leogane was living in the streets and under the tents, using whatever available as make shift shelters.
Located just 18 miles west from the Haitian Capital, the city of Leogane is a beautiful costal city in Haiti. Unfortunately, 2010 proved to be one of the worst years in the history of this city.
Now, the residents of Leogane need to be concerned with yet another potential problem which is cholera. As most places are flooded, they are at risk of Cholera contamination.
What do you think about what the city of Leogane has been going through this year?
Where should we go for help?
Do you think the international community is exhausted with Haiti?
As of this morning, Tomas was located near Haiti, southwestern peninsula. In relative term, it is close to the city of Les Cayes, about 160 miles from Port-au-Prince and was moving at 10mph. In addition, Tomas currently has sustained 85 miles.

I remember those faces ravaged by the unnamed deadly earthquake... they were explaining to me what they went through each time it was raining. Now my guess is that this flood just destroyed their last spark of hope. Most of the inhabitants of the camps (whether it was Modsol, Chatuley, K-Pity, Lonivos, etc.) told me one thing, "we're here waiting to see what the government is gonna do for us." The government, huh? And when I think that Haiti has a nickname (or a last name), Haiti Thomas, I camnot stop meditating about what many Haitian fellows would repeat again and again, "Haiti is the only country with a 'SIYATI'" [siyati is the Creole word for last name]
This is a video of the actual flooding of the city of Leogane following hurricane Tomas. The residents are not equiped to deal with hurrican. The city was recently by the Haiti earthquake when more than 90 percent of the buildings in Leogane were destroyed. Also, the city is going to have to deal with the cholera outbreak that continues to kill more people
The "Haitian Joudalist" leaned that the Haitian National Police recently destroyed over 200 tents in the region of Delmas 3. According to the report, these tents were built as temporary shelters for the victims of the 2010 earthquake.
