Violence in Cap-Haitian against MINUSTAH for cholera

Panic and frustration about the spread of cholera has caused the population in Cap-Haitian to take matter into their own hands. It was reported that gangs threw rocks and bottles to MINUSTAH Police and soldiers.
It was also reported that some of the gang members fired on the police and soldiers. The population in Cap-Haitian was trying to get inside the U.N compounds. Tires were burning in the streets and protestors were building barricades as they were clashing with the U.N. troop.
The violence erupted this morning in Cap-Haitian as the cholera epidemic continues to affect the population and the authorities in the city not demonstrating any ability to control the spread.
Many people have reported that currently there is no place to treat people affected by cholera epidemic in Cap-Haitian. Hospital Justinien, the only main health facility for the Nord Department in Haiti can nor adequately care for cholera patients.
The "Haitian Joudalist" leaned that the Haitian National Police recently destroyed over 200 tents in the region of Delmas 3. According to the report, these tents were built as temporary shelters for the victims of the 2010 earthquake.
