Digicel is once again proving to be a positive force in the well been of the Haitian population. It was announced theis week that the Telephone company is opening a new school in Delmas 24 this week. This project is in partnership with USAID and another company called Kentz.
The school which will be frequented by both boys and girls is expected to have a capacity of 700 children and will specialized in basic education
This new school was part of a plan for the Digicewl Foundation to open several schools in Haiti. The company has been focused mainly on school as it believes in strengthening the education system in Haiti
All the buildings that will be constructed by Digicel will be in accordance with modern construction codes.
This school construction project by Digicel as another objective. It entends to create jobs desperately needed by the Haitian population.
According to a representative of Digicel Foundation: "These projects also employ young people for the construction of schools throughout the IDEJEN social program funded by USAID."
