Many organizations that provide services in Haiti are doing it with tremendous respect to the Haitian population. They are involved in activities that really help such as medical, agriculture, energy, education, home, and technology.
There are a few of these Religious Organizations and NGOs however, that use our desperate situation to humiliate us.
These entities do provide some relief to the poor Haitians. However, some end up taking away the most precious thing from these same Haitians they are trying to help: Their Dignity.
There is a Haitian proverb that says: "Si Ou pa ka bam, Pa Kraze Kwy moin", If you can't give me, do not break my dish.
I have been living in the United States for a long time and I have not seen this level where people invade other's privacy to the level it is being done in Haiti.
Some people have been questioning the way in which these organizations have been trying to help the Haitian people. Many feel that instead of helping, thi will create a level of dependency. Do you help by giving the Haitian a fish every time he needs to eat or do you show him how to fish?
These NGOs or Religious Organizations take the picture of who they want and feel free to post them anywhere they want to, often without a consent from the subject.
It is recommended that the Haitian government exercises some authority to protect these NGOs and Religious Organizations.
This is not the only way these people can motivate other to donate money in Haiti.
The Religious Organization La Bonne Nouvelle created by evengelist frere joel Trimble also wants other to know what they are doing in Haiti as well. Unlike the other organizations that are exploiting Haiti and the Haitian population by showing horrible pictures of Haiti, Frere Joel Trimble uses instead positive pictures.
They make their documentary without humiliating the Haitian people. Here is an example of a video by La Bonne Nouvelle
