The Haitian President nominated Mr. Bernard Gousse as his second choice for Prime Minister of Haiti. This took place at Haiti Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.

As you may remember, Haitian lawmakers rejected President Martelly's first choice for prime minister, Daniel-Gerard Rouzier. Some accused Rouzier of tax evasion and working for other foreign governments.

This decision was made by the president to select  Bernard Gousse as Prime Minister after long conversation and negotiation with both Chambers of Haitian Legislators. However, so far the prospect for Bernard Gousse to become the next Prime Minister of Haiti does not look very good as many Haitian Senators and Deputies have voiced their opposition to this choice. According to some sources,  more than half of the senators have asked the president to pick someone other than Mr. Bernard Gousse.

Many others believe that it is a bad decision by President Michel Martelly to nominate Bernard Gousse as Prime minister, recollecting his troubled history as the interim Justice Minister under Gerard Latortue government. Many Lavalas supporters and human rights advocates lay the blame on him for persecuting Aristide supporters
