Shakira arrived on Thursday to personally delivered the fund to the Haitian High school, Elie Dubois and took the opportunity to bring some joy to the students with her song "Waka Waka".

In a serious note, Shakira stated to the crowd that was present during the presentation: "I'm convinced that the key to a dignified future for Haiti is through education". She is a Hip-pop star and a Grammy-winning.

Shakira was able to come up with the $800,000 for the restoration of Haitian School Elie Dubois with the help of her Barefoot Foundation and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Beside Elie Dubois High school,  Shakira has plan to build other schools in Haiti. Her Pies Descalzos Foundation will build another school for children in the area of Port-au-Prince

Elie Dubois High school in Haiti has a historic importance for Haiti and the Haitian population. It is a Catholic, all girls school located in downtown Port-au-Prince. The school was damaged by the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
