Haiti is home to a new Agricultural center. The center will be used to train Haitian farmers on better ways to do agriculture. Haitian farmers will learn innovative techniques to increase crops

The U.S. government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), kicked-off Haiti’s National Agriculture and Labor Day on May 1 by inaugurating a cutting-edge agricultural training center.

The new Haitian Agricultural center is comprised of a warehouse, dormitory, training center, three laboratories and a distance-learning facility. Outside teaching will be provide by agriculture experts from the University of Florida.

The Haitian economy is mainly agricultural, contributing to more than 25 percent of Haiti economy. The agricultural industry in Haiti also employs  more than 60 percent of the population.
