Michel Martelly resides in Haiti with his wife and their four children. He actually owes a second home in West Palm Beach, Florida.

In 2006, Michel Martelly known as “Sweet Micky” announced his retirement from recording and performing. Two years later, he returned to music, and composed “Magouye”.

Michel Martely is a true genuine Haitian who will get up early in the morning, wearing his tennis shoes and his shorts, walking around the suburbs, talking to anyone he would meet on his way, giving hope to the disenfranchised.

As a businessman, he has managed his music career, helped, and has made it possible for musicians to make a living in Haiti. With discipline, love, passion, and joy, he, along with his wife and his oldest son do social work in the Haitian community.
