A Plan to rescue the Centre D'Art Haitien

advertisement
The 2010 Haiti earthquake affected all sectors in Haiti. The Haitian art specially took a beating as many art pieces were destroyed, including the Centre D'Art Haitien that represents so much for Haitian art in general.

The Centre D'Art Haitien which is by itself the symbol of Haitian art was completely destroyed with that quake, taking with it many rare and valuable art pieces.

There is a movement under way to rescue these art pieces at the Centre D'Art Haitien that were damaged. Currently, more than 5,000 art pieces are being rescued at the Rescue of the collection of Centre d’Art. This work is being conducted by Museologist, Marie-Lucie Vendryes, and eight other professionals

A team of several assistants and two objects conservators Stephanie Hornbeck and Anais Gailhbaud are responsible for the treatment of sculptures that were affected. B. Colla is in charge of the paperwork rescue
