Ingredients you need to prepare Cabrit: 2 cups full of goat meat chunks is the main ingredient of the cabrit. Then you need to have a stock of maggi cut into cubical shapes. A pinch of lemon juice is required to prepare cabrit. You need 1tbsp. vegetable oil and this is sufficient to prepare this delicious Haitian recipe. The spices that you require to add in this preparation are salt according to your taste and a pinch of chili peppers if you want. Red sliced onion pieces and sliced tomatoes can be added to impart a good characteristic flavor.
Method of preparation for Cabrit: The first and foremost step is to marinate the goat meat pieces with the sliced onion pieces, the cubical maggi stock, lemon juice, oil and salt. Overnight marination or marinating for at least 4 hrs is quite essential to give a perfect flavor to this awesome Haitian recipe. When the meat gets marinated, heat the meat on the pan till it becomes brown. Then add water to the pan after the meat turns brown. Simmer the preparation over the pan for about half an hour at low flame. This makes the goat meat to get soft. Keep adding water so that the mixture does not dry up. As the cooking process gets complete, dry the liquids by opening up the lid. This allows the liquids to dry. As this liquids dry, add the sliced onions and tomatoes, add pepper and heat well. Then place the lid again to let the onions cook. Add some toppings and garnishing and your cabrit is ready to be served.
