The two had a working meeting in New York on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 where President Michel Martelly thank billionaire financier George Soros for his efforts to help the people of Haiti. The President also wanted the businessman and philanthropist George Soros to look at the opportunities that Haiti currently offers. He also assured Mr. Soros that these investments will be protected with the establishment of the rule of law in Haiti
George Soros is a Hungarian-American financier, businessman, and philanthropist. Soros moved to New York City in 1956 and began investing on his own. From 1963 to 1973, he worked at Arnhold and S. Bleichroder.
In March 2010, Forbes lists George Soros as the 35th richest person in the world, and the 14th richest person in America, with a net worth estimated at $14.0 billion.
