The "Haitian Joudalist" has learned that the popular Cash for Work program that was created in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake did not turn out to be what it was intended to be originally. Instead in several cases, Cash for work has become a program used to exploit vulnerable individuals in the Haitian population. or as it is being referred by many: A Sex for Work Program.

Funded by USAID, the Cash For Work program was developed to remove rubble in Port-au-Prince. In the area of Ravine Pintade, residents made several claims of exploitation and Kickback they alleged that is taking place in the Cash for work program, sometime called sex for work. Allegations such as Foremen responsible to hire workers are receiving kickback of 500.00 Haitian gourdes per worker which is evaluated at $12.00 are current. In addition, some women reported they have traded sex for work. According to the report on opednews.com, some Haitian Foremen demand that the women have sex with them in order to get a job. Journalists from "Ayiti Kale Je" reported that they have observed certain foremen hassling women at the work sites for money.

It has been reported that 100% of the participants in the Cash for work program have either been directly involved in or witnessed Sex being traded for a spot on the Cash for Work program. According to the report on opednews.com , in Ravine Pintade, 30% of the Cash For Work beneficiaries stated that they were obligated to pay a kickback for their jobs, 10% of women in the program said their friends had to trade sex to get the job.

The United Nations Development program (UNDP), found similar claims in February 2011. In  interviews conducted with some recipients of the Cash for Work program , several people reported instances of sexual favors requested of them for a spot on work lists.
