New Orleans to spotlight Haiti and Haitian culture at the Festival

Many people may not know that, but Haiti and New Orleans have much more than Natural disasters and beautiful music that link them together.
This idea to promote Haitian culture at the festival in new Orleans is an opportunity to discover some of the beautiful art pieces from Haiti, as well as their music and their resilient culture.
Haiti was definitely present and represented at the festival in New Orleans. On Sunday, the DJA-RaRa band, in English:JAH-rah-rah, paraded the city, drawing many spectators along the route of the festival. Other Haitian artists scheduled to perform at the festival include Morse and is RAM Rara band, Wyclef Jean, Emeline Michel, Tabou Combo, Djakout #1, and Ti-Coca & Wanga-Neges.
Both Haiti and New Orleans were French colonies during the French colonization period. However, in 1803, after a successful revolt from the the Blacks in Saint Domingue (Haiti) and declaring themselves independent from France, Napoleon was obligated to abandon its dream to increase its domination in the new land. he subsequently sold the entire state of Luisiana to the U.S. for the the bargain price of $15,000
