First Lady Michelle Obama in Haiti to show support after earthquake

Three months after a devastating earthquake, U.S. First Lady, Michelle Obama arrives in Haiti to underscore the commitment of the US Government to help the victims of the earthquake and also thank the volunteers who have been in Haiti to help. The first lady made her one day visit to Haiti, accompanied with Jill Biden, wife of current vice President Joe Biden. The visit was kept a secret for security reasons
The first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden took a helicopter tour of the devastating area and landed on the site of the destroyed Haiti National Palace to meet Haitian president Rene Preval. Upon their arrival at the National Palace, they were received by the Haitian president and his wife, Elizabeth Delatour Preval.
Michelle Obama and Jill Biden visited several sites during their visit to Haiti, including a site located behind the Le Musee D'Art Haitien. They also were greeted by children welcoming them with songs. They were singing: " We are so glad to see you". Michelle and Jill sang with the children and at the end, gave some of them high five.
Following the introduction, the two ladies visited a bus where the children were involved in art therapy. According to Ms. Obama, she drew a fish for the children
Immediately after the Haiti earthquake, president Barack Obama ordered ships, helicopters, transport planes and a 2,000 member Marine unit to go to Haiti to start the relief effort. The president promised to mount an all-out rescue and humanitarian effort to help the people of Haiti.
