This new facility will be able to handle 21 different sports and also close to 1,000 Haitian athletes per month. The exact location in Haiti and size of this new $10 Million Multi-sports development Center has not been determined yet.
The International Olympic Committee has decided to take on this project "to provide a more lasting legacy", according to their spoke person.
This is actually the first time Haiti will be equipped with a sport facility where we will be able to hold competition at an international level.
This can be considered as the best news I have heard about Haitian sports since our participation in the World Cup in 1974 or thirty six years ago to be exact
Where should this new $10 Million Multi-sports development Center be placed in Haiti?
Would it be a great idea to locate it in Port-au-Prince, close to the Sylvio Cator Stadium?
Do you think we should demolish Sylvio Cator Stadium and replace it by this $10 Million Multi-sports development Center?
Do you think it will be better to have it outside of Port-au-Prince, in the North, the South, etc., as part of decentralizing the Haitian capital?
What about a name for this new complex? Please suggest a name
I believe it should built in Cap haitian, as we know it will attract more tourism in the region that we need so much to grow the economic. It will remind the world the beauty of our dear country that have been protrait so unfairly lately.
This new $10 Million dollar sport complex to be built in Haiti should be built in Port-au-Prince because there are too many young people who are not doing anything all day
More importantly, this facility should have a big soccer field with room for people to seat and enjoy the game. In addition, it needs to include basket ball, Volley ball, Tennis, sweaming etc
A Multi-sports development Center in Haiti will likely look like this animated pictures in this video. This is an architecture design of YMCA animated facility. It includes the interior design for a new Multi-level facility, including sports, gymnasium and locker rooms. This facility however did not provide a section for soccer. I just hope that this new $10 Million Multi-sports development Center projected for Haiti will include a soccer field.
