Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski celebrated Christmas at Krome Detention center with more than 150 undocumented immigrants from Haiti, Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia.
The Mass was conducted with seven priests, 12 deacons and 250 volunteers. Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski who conducted the Mass in Spanish, English and Haitian Creole stated: "We are sure Joseph was not delayed trying to obtain a visa to cross the border, that is why we can say that Jesus was a refugee and an undocumented immigrant.".
Thomas Wenski is an advocate of the immigrants. Son of a Polish immigrant himself, the Archbishop of Miami has been an active supporter of the Haitian immigrants for the past 35 years.
