Shleu Shleu was one of the greatest Haitian Kompa bands in the 1970s. It was the time when the music competition in Haiti was furious. I can remember listening to Shleu Shleu that later became Skah Shah, then Skah Shah number one. On the one side, you have band such as shleu Shleu, Scorpio, Difficiles, Gypsies, Coupe Cloue, Rodrigue Milien, Loup Noires, Les Ambassadeurs. It was the era of beautiful, well written music delivered with not only in beautiful melodies but in the wonderful solo sax, a style we no longer hear.

The weekend in Haiti at that time was filled with various programs. Places such as Le Lambie, Rex Theatre, Cine Palace. Movies such as La revenche est un plate qui mange froid, Je vais, Je Tire, et Je Reviens, On M'appelle Trinita et on continue toujour par m'appeler Trinita, and 5 gachetttes d'or, are still in my memory and will remain forever

Another alternative was to be at Silvio cator Stadium and watch Recine Club loadind on Violette or Dom Bosco. I can still see flashback of les Vorbes, Ti-nes, Manno Sanon, Bathelemy, Ti Tompus, Pierre Bayonne, Roger Saint Vil.
