Centre d' D'Accueil for Haiti Street Children in Carrefour

With the presentation from Haiti Street Children from the Centre d' D'Accueil of Carrefour to the President of Haiti, Mr. Michel Martelly, a new emphasis is put on the need to provide some relief to these children. Thank to the centre d'accueil, their voices were heard by the Haitian president.
The Street kids of Carrefour recorded their grievances in a song. When President Martelly heard it, he promised to help the social center.
The Centre d' D'Accueil for Haiti Street Children was built in 1946 and is now providing services for a total of 390 children. The Center provides training and teaches children taken from Haiti streets a sense of responsibility and sharing.
The Centre d' D'Accueil that is located in a popular area of Port-au-Prince, Carrefour, receives funding from UNICEF in the amount of $461,000 a year for its operation.
