The first new industrial park that will be done in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake will be located in the north of the country. Recently, The Haitian Government, with the Inter-American Development Bank, the Korean apparel company Sae-A, as well as the U.S. Government signed a memorandum of understanding to start the construction of the first new industrial park in the north of Haiti.

Financing for the project has been assured by several investors. The main contributor is IDB which will assure the financing for the park structure. In addition, financing has been approved for factory equipments, roads, and other logistics such as electricity, housing for the employees and port.

This project for Haiti Northern Industrial Park is also expected to give a head start to future developments that are expected to take plae in the region such as providing an infrastructure for tourism development in the North of Haiti. Haiti Northern Industrial Park is also expected to support agricultural development in the region

The initial construction phase of Haiti Northern Industrial Park is expected to end by June 2012. At that point the  Industrial Park will start its operation with capacity for expansion in the near future
