Situated along the coastal line of the Caribbean Sea, Anse-à-Galets is a town in the western region of Haiti. It’s a municipality located in the arrondissement of La Gonave in the department of Ouest in the Central American republic of Haiti. It lies within the coordinates 18°50'0? North and 72°52'0? West. Anse-a-Galets has an estimated population of 52,662 people. It lies at an average altitude of 16 meters or 52 feet above the sea level.

This municipality is subdivided into 6 communal sections. These sections are Palma, Petite Source, Grande Source, Grand Lagon, Picmy and Petite Anse.

This coastal town of Anse-a-Galets has some of the most exquisite beautiful beaches in the region. The sandy paradises together with the Caribbean tropical hot and wet climate make this a very attractive tourist destination. Some of the costal line is covered with pristine white sandy beaches while some is bordered by big boulders of rocks and overhanging cliffs laced with dense vegetation.

This municipality has an airport called Anse-à-Galets Airport. It is a small airport that is served by charter planes from the capital Port au Prince. The other airport near this town is the Camp Canargus Airport which is an approximate 65 kilometers away. The international airport in the capital, Port au Prince, is approximately 70 kilometers away.

The town has a hospital, a public square and on orphanage that is run with help from aid agencies. The beach front property has some beach resorts. Most of the roads in the town of Anse-a-Galets are made of loose gravel.
