The Town of Previle, Haiti

Located in the Haitian department of Grand Anse about 190 kilometers west of the capital Port au Prince, Prévilé is a small rural community in the Central American republic. It lies at the geographical coordinates; latitude 18°31'59" north of the equator and 74°10'0" west of the Prime Meridian.

The town of Previle is located in the south western ridges of Haiti. This is a mountainous region adorned by steep hills and deeply incised gorges. This makes the area’s accessibility difficult as building roads in such a landscape would be expensive for such a poor nation. The transport network in the area is composed of dirt roads.

There is no airport within the environs of Previle. The closest airport is the Perry Municipal Airport located about 14 km away from this town or the Les Cayes Airport located an approximate 49 km from this town. The Toussaint Louverture international airport in the capital is approximately 190 kilometers away.

The inhabitants of this rural village of Previle are some of the poorest in the nation they are peasant farmers who practice subsistence farming. They cultivate corn, sugar cane and fruits.

The towns neighbouring Previle are Duranton to the north, Campagne to the west and Dayere to the south.
