Despite some technical difficulties recorded on the day of the Haiti run-off election on March 20, 2011, this election will be recorded in the Haitian history book as a success.

The voters were voting for a candidate for the presidency of Haiti, seven senators and 77 members of the Chamber of Deputies.

The election day was marked by long lines formed in front of some poling places as the necessary materials for voting were not distributed on time.  Within hours after polls were open, several places were reporting issues with the materials. in some instances, inks used for the voters were missing.

However at the end of the day, most people were satisfied with the process. This is the total the opposite to the election in December where the population took to the streets immediately after the election to denounce fraud and irregularities
