Haiti and Turkey have a long relationship that dates back to 1950. Turkey sent humanitarian aids to the earthquake victims of 2010 and had helped Haiti greatly with huge financial aid of $1 million. One Turkish NGO “Kimse Yok Mu” has recently been collaborating in the construction of a hospital and an international high school which is expected to inaugurate by the end of 2014. Meanwhile, a representation of Haitian parliamentarians, municipal authorities and business executives visited an economic conference organized by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri between April 28 and May1, 2014. The conference brought together several Latin American and Caribbean countries in closed discussion with Turkey on issues of mutual economic interest.
