Franck Lavaud

advertisement
He was the acting president of Haiti between two terms stepping in to replace the outgoing presidents before the elections were held. Franck Lavaud was the 32nd and 34th president of Haiti during which times both presidents had resigned or gone in exile after their being removed from office.

There is little record of his achievements and structural changes he brought to the country but one can easily find any kind of information they like from the country’s libraries and any other place they can find a well-equipped library. However, the essence of Franck Lavaud entire presidency is that he was one of the presidents Haiti has never seen.

Lavaud was able to easily negotiate with the U.S and get any help he needed and wanted.
The country on the other hand was able to easily gain as much from the help they received from the U.S and had some of the economic situations they had suffered only a couple of years before restored. This was the time when the outgoing president Élie had started a program to have to plant rubber around. He had started the program with the U.S but things had gone pretty bad and the U.S had all of a sudden closed the program leaving a little compensatory money for the farmers who had lost their farms and tracts of land.

As a result there had been many revolts that had come up and the president had been forced out of office and there had been the need for a president to hold on to the seat before elections were held. This is where Franck Lavaud had come in and had stood in two different scenarios for the elections to be held.
