Haitian pickliz recipes can be categorized into special recipes of the Caribbean islands. This Haitian dish can be easily prepared at your homes.

Ingredients needed for the preparation of Haitian pickliz- You will need about six scotch bonnet peppers and 2 cupful of finely sliced and chopped cabbage for preparing the Haitian pickliz. In addition to this, you will need half a cup shredded and sliced carrots along with one fourth cupful of shredded or sliced onions. You can optionally add about eight to ten numbers of peppercorns to the above mentioned ingredients.

Spices needed for this Haitian pickliz recipe are whole cloves of about four in number, salt according to the taste. You need to add about three cupful of vinegar to impart a good flavor to this Haitian pickliz recipe.

Method for preparing the Haitian pickliz- Finely chops down the stems of the peppers and cut each of the peppers into four pieces each. You need to preserve the seeds of the peppers for use at a later point of time. Pour all the ingredients starting from the peppers, the cabbage slices, the sliced carrots, the sliced onions and the peppercorns in a jar of medium size. Add the spices one by one starting from the cloves, the pinch of salt and stir the mixture a little. Then you need to add the vinegar and cover the bowl with a lid. Let the preparation stand for at least one or two days so that the flavor nicely gets infused into the pickliz. This will give the pickliz a delicious and unforgettable taste.

The Haitian pickliz tastes even more delicious when you serve it with meat or fish preparations.
