The earthquake of 2010 caused many in Haiti to be homeless. Many had to live under the tent in Champ de Mars where the statue of Neg Maron was located. The condition near the Neg Maron, as well as in many areas where people lived in tent was very uncomfortable. It was even worst during the raining season in Port au-Prince.
