Have you ever been to an Haitian party? Well, consider Haitia Kanaval to be ten times better. You definitely know we Haitians party hard. Oh yes we do, specially during the carnival season. The party never ends.
My experience of Carnival in Cap-Haitian is out of this world. Despite Christmas, and first communion parties, Mardi Gras is my favorite.
Another reason why I love Carnival season in Haiti is because it is one of the few times where all Haitians come together. The rich and the poor are all celebrating together forgetting the hardship of tomorrows.
The Carnival season brings out the colors of the city. Great pictures are painted, music are playing, and food never runs out.
In the city of Cap-Haitian, during Carnival, we just can't wait for the time when the different bands will be out on the streets. Tropicana Vs Septentrional, Band Rara.
"Madi gra Mwoun Pa Pe ou Se Moun ou Ye"
Madigra Ti Rouge, Ti Cok, Band Maske, Band Siray, Chaloska, Madigra corn, or Mard-igras Blad as some would call them. Later in the night, Band Sam Pwel. I get to see everything ,and its incredible. When it comes to it pretty is an understand. I enjoy the parades due to the great amount of candy, beads, mask that I receive.
Carnivals in Au Cap gave me a sense of hope. It realized the stress that I encounter at home, school and life. This carnival will give my beautiful country the courage it takes to get back up and shine. We won't stop, and nothing can stop us.
